I have used Flower Essences on and off for most of my adult life,  but it wasn’t until the beginning of 2007 that I appreciated just how amazing and blessed they are.   I was going through what many of us may go through at some time or another ~ ‘the dark night of the soul'.   In my search for a way out of the darkness, I found Reiki.   Or rather, I should say, Reiki found me.   During one of my attunements,  I felt literally absorbed in a profound aroma of wildflowers.   I couldn’t breathe enough of this heavenly fragrance into me!   This was a message to me that Reiki and Flowers were to be my Path to Wholeness.   I began working with Flower Essences right away and learning all I could about these special healers.  And in the Fall of 2008 I received Third Degree Reiki. At the Reiki page, I share a little bit of what I learned about Reiki.

Natural healing has always been my preference.  I am always looking for holistic healing methods that assist in balancing and supporting the body.  Learning about the chakra system has been very useful.   Chakras are centers of spiritual power in the body and  keeping a constant balance between all the chakras encourage health and a sense of well-being.   At the Chakra Essences page,  I offer Essences that help support proper functioning of the chakras.

Native American Astrology was in existence well before the first settlers arrived in what would become the United States.   In this system,  the term - totem - describes the spiritual alignment of an individual or clan.   According to the American Indian culture,  an animal guide is assigned to a person at the time of their birth;  this animal will accompany that person throughout their life as a spiritual guide and an invisible companion.

Our pets are very sensitive to the vibrations around them.   They absorb our negative emotions and may even become ill as a result.   Just as children will display behavioral difficulties when they are experiencing problems at home, our pets are affected in the same way.   Sometimes pets feel that they can stop a difficult situation by becoming the focus of attention themselves,  as if trying to heal the tension between their human companions.

The human-animal bond is a close one, and pets are particularly vulnerable to absorbing their owners' moods and emotions.   For example,  don’t we often stroke a dog or a cat when we feel stressed or upset?  Dogs and cats can experience fear,  loneliness and depression just as we do,  as well as absorbing our fears and frustrations.

At first glance, the desert seems an undesirable place - a land that holds dangers for those unwilling to be present. Yet,  it offers support in becoming more focused,  aware,  and internally strong.   The desert flowers teach us patience, adaptability and self-nurturance.   At the Desert Essence page,  I will introduce you to some of these Desert Teachers.
